ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES OF NEPETA TRANSCAUCASICA JROSH PLANT. I.B.Akhmedov, M.A.Aliev Microbiology department of Azerbaijan State Medical University named after N.Narimanov
Nepeta transcaucasica Jrosh (NtJ) is long-standing bush plant that contains essential oil. It is wide-spread all over Azerbaijan besides Absheron region. You can meet this plant most rarely along mountain ways. Grouing conditions influences weight of the plant and contain of essential oil inside it. During flourishing period the plant achieves 12-40 sm in length. The weight varies from 20 to 100 grams in one-year plant , and from 500 to 800 grams in more-year plants. Amount of essential oil inside NtJ varies from 0.68% to 1.8% per completely dry weight and depends on growing conditions, harvesting time and development period. It decreases in spring and late autumn and increases in summer. Content of essential oil in NtJ achieves it's maximal level during the mass flourishment period. When NtJ is grown under cultural conditions, it gives the harvest 3 times a year in amount 40-60 kg per a hectare. We discovered antimicrobic properties of essential oil extracted from NtJ gathered from wild growth and from Mardakan Dendrary. It must be noticed, that NtJ has different variations according to morphological peculiarities. These variations differ by essential oil content as well. To study antimicrobic properties of NtJ we used disk and dispersion-contact methods. For disk method 1% alcohol solution of the essential oil was used. For dispersion-contact method 3 dispersal forms of the essential oil were used. With this purpose, alcohol was distillated and diluted by the following way: 1 ml alkohol + 3 ml water 1 ml alkohol + 4 ml water 1 ml alkohol + 5 ml water Dilution of above-mentioned solutions was made in proportion 1:2000 with the essential oil. So, according to amount of water in solution N1 high , N2-large , N3-week dispersities were gained. To study antimicrobic influence of the oil, Staphyloccoccus aureus, Serratia marcenscens, E.coli, Ps.aeruginosa and Candida fungi were used as test-culture. Solutions N1, N2 and N3 first in 2 ml amount first, 2 drops of 18-24 -hour culture second were included into test-tubes. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 minutes after the materials were taken from tubes, planted on peptone agar surface and incubated in thermostat under 37 degrees by Celsius during 24 hours. It was revealed that concerning to other test-cultures St. aureus shows definite resistance to NTJ essential oil. The bacteria dies in N1 solution in 30 minutes, N2- 60 minutes, and doesn't in N3 . E.Coli and Ps.aeruginosa died in all 3 oil solutions in 10 minutes. Ser.marcescens died in N1 Solution in 10, N2- in 20, N3-in 30 minutes. Candida fungi died in N1 and N2 solutions in 10 minutes , N3 solutions didn't affect them. Thus, results of the conducted investigations show that NtJ oil has stronger antibacterial effects on gram-negative bacteria. The oil's antibacterial power increases with it's dispersity growth. NtJ essential oil can be used as antibacterial remedy.

ABOUT PROPHYLAXIS OF ANASTOMOSES SUTURE INSOLVENCY (ASI) DURING PLANNED OPERATIONS ON JEJUNUM. Zeynalov B.M Department of Surgical Diseases-1 of Azerbaijan State Medical University named by N.Narimanov
Aim of this study is to work-out complex prophylactic events against insolvency of anastomosis sutures putted on primarily during jejunum resection or after colostoma liquidation. In order to prevent ASI intravenous laser irradiation of blood (ILIB) , intravenous infusion with special infusate and intestine intubation have been conducted. ILIB performed by mekhanizm working on helium-neon lazer. Lazer wave length composed 0.6328 mkm, exit power- 15mVt, irradiation term- 35-60 minutes. Irradiation was performed 4-5days before and 1 day after operation. Infusion therapy was conducted by the following solution mixture: reopoliglukine - 6 ml/kg heparin - 2.5 mg/kg trental - 5mg/kg during first 7 days after operation. Clinical materials consisted of 45 patients who were operated in Hospital for Emergency Medical Care named after M. Nagiev during 1995-1998 years. Patients' age varied from 16 to 74. 32 of them were males and 13 - females. Patients suffered from different surgical diseases and colostomas. On 28 patients sygmo- and transverso- anastomosis liquidation, on 12- left-sided hemicolectomia, on 5- resection of sigmoid intestine operations have been performed. In 34 patients yeyunum-yeyunum anastomose was putted end-to-end, in 6- end-to-side, in 5- side-to-side. ILIB was conducted before infusion therapy, after surgical operation, active decompression of intestine over the anastomosis caused blood coagulation, intoxication, serious negative changes of immunological indexes and enzyme metabolism. Surgical operations were performed during the above-mentioned indexes achieved highest level. Correction of these prognostic important indexes helped to prevent complications. As a result, only 2 patients delivered ASI , what is 9.5% less than in control. Thus, usage of pathogenically based complex prophylaxis events in clinical practice caused decrease of ASI cases during surgical operations on jejunum.

CRANIOMETRICAL RESEARCHES AT THE FORENSIC MEDICAL IDENTIFICATION OF THE PERSON Vugar K.Husseynov, Shakir M. Musaev Forensic Medicine department, A.Aliyev State Refresher Institute of Physicians
The given work is devoted to diagnostics of an individual membership of a skull to one of local variants Southern European of race by a method of the discriminant analysis. For these purposes the method of craniometric diagnostics of a skull of an unknown person to populations of the Caucasian ,Central Asian and Southern European origin is developed. The racial structure of the modern nations of former USSR is investigated rather full. Now there is not any significant region, which has not been covered by craniological researches. Severe unification of craniometrical method provides comparability of results of the various researchers. The task of differentiation of the nations of Central Asia (Turkmens, Uzbeks, Tadjiks) on the other hand and nations of Caucasus and Southern Europe (totally) on the other hand that is without division into 2 local territorial groups. Diagnostics of a racial belonging by a skull is subordinated first of all to task of individual identification of the person and has the specificity. The opportunities of differentiation Caucasoid and southern Europeans were not studied as has forced us to fill in the specified blank till present time. The result of the carried out researches have allowed us to estab- lish, that the nations of Southern Europe differ by narrower brain and observe departments of a skull and the nations concerning to southeuropean to a type of Central Asia are characterized by the large sizes of the width sizes of brain and obverse departments of a skull in also weakened horizontal profiling of the person in a direction of large Mongoloid race. Sharply acting nose and high nose back allocate the nations of Caucasus first of all; on the width sizes of a skull they borrow an intermediate situation populations of Southern Europe and Central Asia. Diagnostics of local variant of South-European race (the Caucasus or Central Asia, the Caucasus or Southern Europe) on models of one- dimensional discriminate analysis assumes: practically authentic decision -85.63%: the probable decision -10%; failure of the decision of a task-4.37%; The craniometric diagnostics of local variant of South-European race on a basis of discriminate is possible: Central Asia-68.94-80. 73%; Southern Europe -71.79-79.07%: the Caucasus -76.32-81.08%. The simultaneous differentiation worsens all of the 3-rd local variants of race diagnostic prospects-64.71-78.46%, 57.50-65.26% and accordingly 61.79-73.33%
